High-Voltage Automatic Reactive Power Compensation Unit

This parallel capacitor unit is designed for installation on the 6–35kV side of substations rated 35kV and below, in 50Hz AC power systems. It aims to improve power factor, enhance voltage quality, and reduce network losses.

There are two structural types of high-voltage automatic reactive power compensation units:

• Cabinet-type structure:

  • Features electromagnetic interlocking and live-line indication

  • Can be equipped with an automatic reactive power controller for automatic switching based on actual conditions

  • Highly integrated, compact design

  • Intended for indoor use

• Frame-type structure:

  • Lower cost

  • Electromagnetic interlock supplied by the user

  • Suitable for outdoor installation

The cabinet-type unit primarily improves the installation framework for high-voltage parallel capacitors to comply with switchgear standards. Designed for turnkey delivery, installation, and commissioning, it is mainly used in small substations and industrial user substations, with capacitors installed indoors.
